The original portion of the lunch counter and stools where the four students sat on Feb. 1, 1960, has never been moved from its original footprint.

The Museum is delighted with the interest from the local community and visitors from across the country. In planning your visit, please be aware that guided tours run approximately one hour. Advance tour tickets can be purchased via credit card by calling 336-274- 9199 or toll free at 800-748-7116 Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Self-guided tours are also available from 2:00 p.m. to closing each day for $15 per person.

Tours are scheduled every 30 minutes during normal hours of operation. To ensure the best possible experience for Museum visitors and public safety, each tour is conducted in designated group size. Final tours each day begin one hour before closing.
