In 2011. we renamed the golf toumament to salute the legacy and memory of Dr. Simkins. We also wanted to recognize the addtional litigants together known as the "Greensboro Six," as they joined in the landmark Gillespie Park suit which challenged the segegation of that day.
This year's tournament wil be held at Bryan Park Golf Course in Browns Summit. NC. ICRCM will host a pairings paty during the evening on Friday June 14th - 7pm for teams to be introduced at the Museum located at 134 S. Elm Street in downtown Greensboro.
In addition to supporting this worthwhile organization, the tournament is a unique social experience that forms foursomes from dIverse ethnic backgounds. We think this structure is a step toward improving race relations in our community and meets the spirit and vision behind the Museum.
